A Breath of Truth

Great line from Thoreau (“Life Without Principle”):

“In short, as a snowdrift is formed where there is a lull in the wind, so, one would say, where there is a lull of truth, an institution springs up.  But the truth blows right on over it, nevertheless, and at length blows it down.”

And, just because it should be on this blog (also from “Life Without Principle”):

“Thus [people] will lie on their backs, talking about the fall of man, and never make an effort to get up.”
