Pray for Texas (Fire and Rain and Burning Bushes)

“Gov. Rick Perry has proclaimed a three-day period, from Friday to Sunday, as Days of Prayer for Rain in the state.

“Texans have been strengthened, assured and lifted up through prayer; it seems right and fitting that the people of Texas should join together in prayer to humbly seek an end to this devastating drought and these dangerous wildfires,” Perry said in his proclamation. “I urge Texans of all faiths and traditions to offer prayers on that day for the healing of our land, the rebuilding of our communities and the restoration of our normal and robust way of life.”

Maybe a rain dance?  How about “hail” Marys?  Better yet, a contest to see who’s God rushes to Texas the fastest.  We would really like to see how God “rebuilds communities” and restores the “robust way of life.” Maybe someone’s God is the One who sent the fires to punish Texas for, let’s guess, George Bush (whole new meaning to burning bush).

People, please don’t pray too hard or we’ll have floods, because as we all know, God needs specific prayers and we don’t want to mix Him/Her up!

Anyway, this is a fine example of “Great American Leadership” is it not?

{Notice the Gov says The Constitution gives him the authority to call us all to prayer.  Sorry, where is that in the United States Constitution?  I think I missed that}
